Just getting some Visual Feed back
Many of us have classic stangs or cars to be general. I just have a question about the presentation of a classic car.
Is it a bad thing to drive a car which is not totally 100% restored or resto - mod?
I know I see alot of your posts with your WOW beatiful cars, and you have spent alot of time / money / and can make your cars look good.
I am actually not in that boat. Mine is prob in ok condition. Theres paint scratches and its is not totally restored.
Is it ok to drive it like that and go to car shows (to get feedback) etc.
I wish I could do it all myself, But i do not have alot of exprience doing this. But it is so much fun to work on.
But all in all whats your feed about this?
Thanks guys

If it runs and stops when you need it to drive it.
My unpainted 66 has always gotten more attention when I drove it someplace than the lil shiny new cars that were there.
I have drove it to many shows. I didnt enter it tho lol.
Used to drive it to work years ago and they were 3 different warehouses in the same bldg.
Everyone would got to the doors and watch and get me to do a couple of doughnuts or a good burn out.
Was funny seeing the ceo's and bosse's that had theirs BMW's and Mercedes out front come out back to smile at my old ratty hot rod.

It's the passion for the cars that binds those in the hobby together not the cars themselves. I'm sure your car has character as only the unrestored ones do. Drive it and enjoy it, show it to others and forget the imperfections.
Looking nice should be the last concern for the car. First get it running nice and then make her pretty.
Normal driven cars get more respect than the flawless ones anyways...

I dont usually have the same admiration for a trailered show car as I hold for the ones that are driven. I understand it is not easy to keep a driver clean but they didnt make these cars to sit in a garage or on a trailer.
Alot of shows around me at least have a daily driver class which sunds like your car as per your description, I also have seen some under-construction classes. I really like seeing those.. Enjoy your ride..

mines not finished, though it doesn't look "that bad" but i mean i still got some black overspray, some of the chrome is f'd up around the windows, 40 yr old door handles, the interior isnt finished but i say drive it man, even the way mine looks people still look at it and go 'wow' cars are meant to be driven, especially if they can start up and have 4 wheels.
better make that 5.. (steering wheel)

Drive it and join a car or Mustang Club. I am one of the few guys in my club with a inline 6. I take it most weekends to our weekly show. Mine will not win any trophies in its currant condition but thats not why I'm in in. Drive it and enjoy it. I put about 1,000 miles mine last year just driving around within 20 miles of my house.
No matter what it looks like , if its safe to drive than drive it . Anybody that has a interest in old cars will look and ask questions on what you got and what you are going to do.We are are all proud of what we we drive even if its not a trailer queen.
Before I got alot of work done on mine I drove it around while it looked like this. As far as car shows, the little ones we have around here usually have an "in-progress" category or something similar.
I agree with the others, these cars were made to be driver, it's a shame to see them packed away never to be used for their purpose.
