ever feel like you got yer a** kicked after working on your car?

I tried installing a B@M shifter today on my 65. I have an AOD tranny. I did well taking the pan out and flipping the shift lever upside down so it will work with the shifter. However that puts the whole shift lever mechanism right in the way of the TV cable. Took all day tying to make it work with no success. Only way to make it work is to fabricate a something that will move the TV cable away from the shift lever.

So I went ahead to finish installing the shifter in the cab. No where in the instructions does it tell you how to install the shift indicator to the shifter. For the life of me i couldnt figure out where the hell the wire bolts to. Also I couldnt find the hot wire for when the lights come on for the shifterbut by this time I was already over it.

Sun went down. *** it. Im drinking a beer.

All that is part of the "joy" of owning an old car. The successes far outweigh the defeats.

Hey Dad did you ever check and see it would still squirt fuel when it dies after 20 mins? I think we can figure that problem out.

Got it home over the weekend (barely). Let it sit overnight. Started it yesterday and let it run in the garage. Died after 20 minutes again. I checked and it was getting plenty of fuel.

Check the electrical. Make sure you're not running off the battery and that the coil is good.
