302 engine problem please help!!!

how old it the fuel filter? carb out of wack perhaps?

well i had time to take it to the shop today. they said theyll do a full engine diagnostics, ill find out what the problem is tonight. ill keep you guys informed.

got it back and three pistons are dead they are filled with oil! however there isnt any smoke comming from teh exhaust like you think there should be. what do i do???

well, hate to be captain obvious here, but proably pull the heads for a start. might be bad valves in the heads or bad rings? mabeye a leak from intake. someone else im sure will be able to tell ya more

Might just be bad valve guide seals too. Won't know for sure till you pull the head and look.

Define "filled with oil".....

If just oily,,, and not really filled, you need to determine if the oil is the cause of these three cylinders not firing, or if the oil is the result of the cylinders not firing....

This question is HUGE.... the situation sounds dismal at this very moment,but the answer to this question may determine if your engine is in need of overhaul, or if you just need some plug wires and/or sparkplugs...

speaking of plugs, did you get to see any of the messed up cylinders plugs? or see how oily the cylinders are?
