I HATE Thiefs
Sorry, this has nothing to do with mustangs. I got home today and went to drive my DD. All of a sudden I realize my i pod, Radio adapter, and i pod arm band are gone... I remember playing it when I came home the night before and the next morning it was gone[:@]. I must have left my car open, and somebody took the liberty of taking it off my hands.
Where do people get the nerve?

I hear you brother, I got to my jobsite last week and I had my materials dropped off by the lumber yard a day earlier and I went there to check everything make sure it was all there. Well the next day me and my guys went back and started on the fence job. Got all the holes duh to install the new metal posts....well as soon as we walked over to the materials we saw it...all the posts where gone. Around 400.00 in materials.
I wish I could find the guys who did it

I used to have a Toyota pickup that got broken into three times and lost a radio each time. Twice it was in my driveway and once they stole a book that I was using for a class I was taking. You would think someone so dumb as to have to steal other peoples' stuff wouldn't have use for a book on computer info systems. Go figure. There's not much else that can **** you off more than walking out to your vehicle and finding what used to be your driver side glass lying in pieces all over the ground. I have no respect for that kind of lowlife.

What a coincidence I had a Toyota pickup and had the stereo stolen out of it three times in three months. By the third time the dash was so messed up that I had to replace part of the dash too. I quit putting nice sound systems in my cars after that. It really sucks that we sometimes can't have nice things without someone wanting to steal them. I came home from a business trip about three years ago to find my house virtually cleaned out.....lost almost everything. It took awhile, but decided to move to a better area....hope the problem doesn't follow me.

No kidding, someone stole my comforter out of the dryer at the washateria.
But in all seriousness, the thievery has gotten out of control recently. Two years ago the city of Oakland spent $50k on a bunch of fancy new metal trash cans to put all over the downtown area. They were all bolted to the sidewalks by bus stops etc... Now 80% of them are "missing". Presumably for the metal.
People are getting their cat converters sawed out of their cars all the time. I have noticed guard rails on busy overpasses and hand rails in public areas like BART (subway) disappearing!! Apartment buildings have all the outside metal plumbing is encased in steel cages, more businesses are putting razor wire around the roofs to keep thieves from getting on top and dropping in through the ceiling... There are almost no pay phones in Oakland (pop 400000) but you can see the pay phone stalls where the phones were ripped out by thieves. Lots of ATM machines have been yanked out of walls by trucks and simply hauled away.
I went to a parts rental store last weekend and they were trying to repair their heavy duty rolling garage door. They had surveillance video of a car repeatedly ramming the door over and over in an unsuccessful attempt to get in. Of course no one was caught. They almost never are. Its amazing how many people feel entitled to take anything they can get their paws on. Unreal.
I don't trust anyone anymore. If you have nice things you need to protect them! Would you rather spend $200 for a nice car alarm or much more time and money paying for stuff you had stolen??
A lot of people don't realize a car alarm is a long term investment and will pay for itself easily in the end. Especially these days when theft is commonplace.
