Default Strange recall

Off topic - but my 2005 Mustang just got recalled this week because the air bag caninjure a small female in the passenger seat. The recall actually specifies it is only females at risk. What would be the difference between a small female and small male? Sorry Toolwench, no rides for you. Actually, nobody rides in that car without a seatbelt and that seems to prevent the problem. Just kind of strange...females only.

I feel so discriminated against... [8D]

Although, I think I worried more in our '06. When I was in the passenger seat, the light for the passenger air bag on/off would flash randomly. So, I guess I was only safe if we got in a wreck while the light was off? Or maybe on? Or what it if was in between? I kinda wanted to know for sure whether or not I was headed face first into destruction. I wanted to be prepared for bad or ugly.

But I do always wear my seatbelt. It's an unconscious habit.

Maybe the guys at Ford assume that it's a guy driving with his chika in the passenger seat.[8D]

I got the same recall notice for my '07 GT500. They also state that in addition to only a small female being at risk, and only when not belted in, that the seat would have to be adjusted all the way forward. I'm not sure I'm gonna get the recall done. I might just ask all small females to keep her seat back and stay belted.

I was leaning the same way. It really is not an issue with my family, but then I thought about the fact I probably would not be the last owner of this car, so I called for an appointment. You never know. The next guy might disable the seat belt alarms and have a kid and not give a sh*t.

I got the same recall. When you made the appointment did they say what it was they were going to do?

If it's simply a programming adjustment to the computer I wouldn't mind having it done for the reasons honeygoldcoupe mentioned. However, if they have to access the air bag I won't, I have Shelby's signature on the dash air bag cover and don't want to chance some tech breaking that piece.
