Default AC evaporator replacement

Hi, I'm thinking of replacing the evaporator on my 73. The old one still works, but has had the fins dented and bent many times over the years. Since I've got the heater box out, with the evaporator just hanging in space near the passenger side floor, this would be agood time to replace the evaporator.

Is it worthwhile? Will a new one be better or unnoticable?

Also, what is the best way to drop the charge in the AC system to remove the evaporator? What should I use to protect the lines to keep junk from getting it?

Thanks,

John

Default RE: AC evaporator replacement

Carefully comb the fins straight. They make a special tool for this (radiator shops) but just some time with a small screwdriver works for me...

Good is good. leave it alone! It really is rare for one to fail. Far more common is the condensor - it is located in a much harsher environment.
