Get better tires. high dollar BFG and Bridgestone street tires are pretty decent. Some suspension mods wouldn't hurt either. And if the 351C is stock, then even if you get traction don't expect to beat every new V6 Mustang you line up against. In all reality that 4.0 V6 is prolly making about the same amount of power as a stock 2V 351C, maybe a tad less.

well i cant complain. she ran close. if i hadnt spun thru 1st and then started letting off in second cause it wouldnt grab i probably would have beat him. i think she needs a good tune also. its running kinda rough as it is. i have someexpensive bf goodrich tires on there now.

The 250 inline 6 in the 69/70 came with the 8 inch rear and v8 front suspension.

Don't stab the gas off the line. You have to drive the car, you can't just point it in a direction and tell it to go. If you spin start pedaling.

yeah i did some research and my 351c should be around 160 stock hp but now that i have headers and exhaust its probably around 185 or so and its out of tune. plus its a 2v so its no good unless i get him off the start, sospinningthru the gears isnt helping much. i think itsclose to 275tq.I will be spending some bucks here shortly on disc brakes and suspension but after i get the saftey done i might consider a new intake or a LSD like you said.

At least it was a Mustang. That seems repectable. It could have been a V-6 Honda. How would that look

Why are you racing on the streets???? [sm=signs006.gif]

Driving a classic, you've earned the right to drive slow...
Get good tires(Drag Radials) and some kind of traction bars for stop light to stop light racing.[sm=gears.gif]If you really want to spank those cars, you'll have to change your gearing to something taller, but you'll lose MPH on the hwy driving..

The new generation 4.0's are pretty quick, especially behind a manual trans. Dont feel too bad.

I wanna say they make like 270hp, but dont trust my memory...
