I would look at a LSD for the rear, so the power goes to both wheels, and wider tyres and or wheels.
Then maybe traction bars. Also I would look at your launch skills. I used to bracket race a 351C and it did not have an LSD,
or traction bars, though the rear springs were the 4 1/2 leaf type and lower than stock, and it would launch hard every time.

Oh and as mentioned, keep the racing for the track..........

I had an 05 V-6 auto. With CAI & computer retune I ran a best of 14.82 in the 1/4. It did not spin off the line & was about equal to my stock 88GT. So they aren't that slow, especially if someone does a little modding & had a 5 speed.
My 05 GT manualwith the same mods ran 13.2 (@ 105MPH I think).
But I decided to get rid of the 05 GT & go with Classics from now on. With the GT it was only a matter of time before I was in jail or dead!

with an LSD the power is distributed the same to both rear wheels. with an open diff like I think you have only one wheel gets power. With the LSD since both wheels get power im guessing it should take about twice the torque to break them loose. Thats probably not ture but it does help out quite a bit.

The 05+ v6 Stangs are still pretty quick, so don't feel bad. A head, cam, intake, carb swap would give you all the power you need to take even the GT's. Those along with some traction bars and drag radials and a rear with some gears will make it a pretty nice ride... of course all it takes is a little more $$$$$....

Why are you racing on the streets???? [sm=signs006.gif]

Driving a classic, you've earned the right to drive slow...
Get good tires(Drag Radials) and some kind of traction bars for stop light to stop light racing.[sm=gears.gif]If you really want to spank those cars, you'll have to change your gearing to something taller, but you'll lose MPH on the hwy driving..
I think you mean lower (numerically higher) gears.

+1 on the street racing being a bad idea. Even if nobody gets hurt, a speed contest ticket is going to hurt big time!
