Drill a hole in the floor pan?
Hi, I've been scraping a treating with a POR-15 regiment some rust on the floor pan of my 73. As I ran water over the floor pans to remove the degreaser and pre-painting treatments, I noticed that a lot of water gather in the area of the rear seat floor. There's a drain hole for most panels in the vehicle, even a couple further forward on the floor pan, but nothing for the rear seat floor.
Has anyone, or should I drill a couple hole in the pan to allow any water to escape. The area where there is rust seems to indicate that water has collected in this area in the past.
Thanks,
John

If water collected there in the past there may have been leaks in the window seals, doors or whatever.
Don't drill. Hopefully after you fix all the seals it won't be a problem.

I've had a persistent leak someplace around the rear window or from the roof for many years. I've tried many things over the years, had the window out many times, but to no avail. Assumming that this mystery leak stays a mystery, I had thought of drilling a hole.
I won't drill the hole. The whole pan is now double coated in POR-15, so I hope that will hold it if there are any more leaks.
Thanks,
John
