Cool Don't worry, rebuilding 4100's is cake. Just don't lose the little ball bearing

I got an extra ball bearing in my kit. Make sure you put it in the right hole.

It functions like a check ball. Most people call it a ball bearing cause that's what it looks like.

There are two little ***** in a 4100. One is bigger than the other and comes in most kits. It's bigger than a BB. This ball goes under the primary venturi and is called the pump discharge ball check.

The smaller of the ***** is the one that's easy to lose. This ball is smaller than a BB. This ball does not come in most kits. In fact it may not even show up in the kit's exploded view. It's called the secondary vacuum passage ball check. It is located in the vacuum passage that ends at the top of the secondary diaphragm cover. When you take the secondary diaphragm cover off, stand the main bowl up and this little bugger should come rolling out. DON'T LOSE IT. Your secondaries won't work right if you do.

Buy a quality kit and a shop manual if you don't already have one. Read until you have a good idea of what's to be done and then have at it. If you're prepped and careful it's a walk in the park.
