Default Headers on a 289

I got a basically stock 289 with an upgraded edelbrock intake and carb. I wanted to put headers on it but don't know where to start. Anyone else got a 289 with headers? I'll be rebuilding it sooner or later. I have power steering but its not in yet, I'll be doing that this summer.

i got tri y's on my 67 - but i had to modify them slightly on the drivers side due to me having GT40P heads. - apparently the tri y's are the only ones that wont bang into the steering but don't quote me on that :|

even with tri Ys you need a power steering bracket adapter.

i went with flowtechs as a cheap alternative to tri ys

go online to Stan's Headers.com and give them a look. I am happy with them. Bolted right up, no issues.

Any of them will fit. The power steering bracket is available from the header manufacturer.
I've grown fond of the Hedman shorty. Absolutely the easiest to install and eliminates ground clearance issues. I don't believe you need the PS bracket either.

Headers will add significant horsepower. (15-20) and are one of the best bolt-on improvements you can make. One thing to remember is as far as headers go, you really get what you pay for.

I have usually heard that most ppl prefer the sound of long tube headers. I would just ask whatever place you buy it from if it will fit so if they say yes and the dont fit, you can return them without any problems.
