Default Restoration Specialists ???????????

Took my 68 to a "Restoration Specialist" garage. Told them I had a couple rust holes in the chasis that needed to be repaired. They looked at the car and said they didn't want the job because it "wouldn't be worth their time". Get over yourself!!!!!!!

woooooooooow. it should be worth it if they get paid.

good thing they got rid of you, it seems like they would have done bad work anyways.

Yeah. They had several cars they were working on when I was there, and they were all high dollar cars. Guess they just didn't want to fool with my "economy" car. But you know what, I enjoy the car and that's all I'm worried about. I must admit I was a bit angered at their response, especially since they were recommended by a local car club. But I was pointed in the right direction by someone else and ended up getting a good job done.Guess that was my silver lining!

"Not worth their time" means it was a small enough job they could not bury a bunch of bogus time in hourly charges like they can on the complete restorations.

There's a company here like that that is famous for building some twin supercharged car that does that to customers. I don't get it honestly. One of them came to us and then dropped like 12k by the time it was done, and is coming back for a blo thru paxton....how much money do some people need before it's "good enough" for them. Dunno. If bill by the hour, I don't understand why the total matters if you get your hourly rate.

I have kind of a similar story about too good for mustangs. There isguy near my house building a consignment business for old cars. I stopped one day to ask him if he was going to store cars. He said no, but asked me what I had. I told him I had a 66 coupe. His reply was, "we are only going to deal in high end stuff here." Well, pardon the F#*k out of me!

If there gonna act like that take your money else where talk to a local mustang club see if they know anyone.Don't use a body shop they will push your car a side for a fast wrecked car fix a true restorer will fix it right and not feed you bs.Some guys will only restore one kinda car and its a high dollar one like early corvettes ferraris etc etc.But theres mustang and normal car restorers out there keep looking.
