I'm looking at a '66 convertible with a body tag date of "03H". I think this is August 3rd 1965. (I very early '66 tag.)
My question is the VIN number seems high for this car/body tag. It is 6F08C259XXX This VIN tells me that it was built in Deerborn, MI. Is there anyway to estimate the build date via the VIN number? Whats going on the the body tag vs. VIN time frame? I'm I missing something? Thanks for your help.

I guess it could be August 3rd of '66 BUT, I thought I seen somewhere that the second August of the 66 production year was a different letter like "N".
Does anyone know when the last '66 rolled of the line and the first '67 started?
How many '66 convertibles came out of the Dearborn plant?
This car is 6F08C259XXX.

My 66 coupe date tag is 20L - Nov 20, 1965. Some here on the forum has the stats but i don'tbelieve they can go down to the assembly plant, just pure numbers.

yah. just checked on the decoder an they say as well August 65
