Numbers matching 65 coupe
Just so you know....there is no such thing as a numbers matching 65 mustang.
The only exception to this rule (that I am aware of) is Shelby's which did get the vin stamped on the block.
The closest you can get is a car with all date stamps suffiently close enough to the original build date for the owner to feel with a certain degree of certainty that all the major components are original.
Congrats on the purchase...now why would you want to know what's it worth post sale?
You're not thinking of flipping it for a fast buck are you?

I was going to post a similar reply but I wasn't certain that I was correct. Thanks for the good info dodgestang. I thought I read somewhere that the non-Shelby K code motors also had a partial Vin, is this true or was I delirious?
Thanks for the posts guys. Just meant everything is original. Motor, trany etc.
To answer the other post about what it was worth. I was just inquiring becuase I got it for pretty much nothing and was trying to figure out what I should do. i.e flip it, restore, hop up. Any suggestions?

As the old saying goes....."it's your car, do what you want with it." If it were mine, I would restore it to factory condition. Others would make a hotrod out of it. Either way is fine in the classic Mustang world.
Thanks...still not real sure. I just spent about a thousand yesterday. Power brakes, 2 flowmasters, brake lines, new poly suspension kit and steering, headers. It doesn't look like it is going to end anytime soon.

Exactly. Like Soaring said, he is more into the "restoration" aspect, making the car like new.
Myself, on the other hand, I prefer to change the car to my personality and tastes, or "resto-mod" it.
He's a little bit country
I'm a little bit Rock-n-Roll
But we all have a love for mustangs and their history.
I would really like to tear it apart and put some more pony's in her...but everyone tells me it will decrease the value. It is pretty cherry right now. All original.

BTW everybody, Mustang Sally is a guy.
Anyhow, nobody can answer that question for you. That is just something you are going to have to decide. If it is really cherry, I personally would keep it cherry, and get an old worn out cheap body to resto-mod. But, that's just me. Yeah, I like county music.....
