Seat opinions...
Ok so I'm getting the floors back into my stang and I'm using an aftermarket setup for mounting the seats into the car itself. I was looking at some aftermarket racing buckets and have been eyeing the racing seats that Jegs sells as their own. They're $190 each and similar to what I'm looking for with a more attractive price and the fact that they have NO LOGO on them because I dont want different companies advertising on my car if you can smell what I'm steppin in. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with their seats and knew of their quality. You know, comfort, support, etc. Ideas? Or maybe some other recommendations?
I used scat perfomance seats in my car, due to the fact they make a kit to bolt them right in. They were reasonably priced and are quite comfortable... The selection is pretty good too.... You can go to scats website or find them on summit.

My advice is to stay away from them.
While driving any car, there are two things that your body isin constantinteraction with.... the steering wheel and the seat. Going "cheap" on either one of them will be a decision you will eventually regret.
For the most part aftermarket "racing" seats are all garbage. They provide little, if any, support. They're cheaply made and aren't designed to last very long. There's usually very little metal used in the seats structureand plastic has been used wherever possible. The material is thin and you're going to get exactly what you pay for.
There are exceptions to this, as previously replied, the SCAT Rally leather seats are a quality seat, but at $700 each (with mounting frames and shipping), they're not your best option.
The best seat for the money (IMO), is a factory seat. ANY factory seat, whether it be Ford or KIA. Factory seats are designed to last at least as long as the manufacturers warranty. They're also designed to pass federal safety standards. A lot of the advertising foraftermarket seats will state "not DOT approved" or "for off-road use only". This is because the aftermarket seat has not been subjected to any federally mandated safety inspections.
With this said, the best deal on the planet right now for seats in a classic Mustang are the '99-04 Mustang seats. They install with only slight modification, are cheap (>$300), and can be found with very little effort. I got a nice set of leather front seats out of an '04 GT 'vert.... they do sit a little higher than the factory seats and I lowered the seat risers accordingly to regain headroom.

Granted both times I bought these seats I bought the 'speciality' model seats (bullitt and Mach 1) but I paid $800 and $900 respectively. HOWEVER. I agree they are an easy upgrade, look great in the car, and offer many benefits you won't get with a straight up racing seat. I disagree that you have to lower the seat riser to make the work comfortably...and one day you and I will be at the same show (with our cars so we can sit our ***** in each other's ride)and we can compare installation notes and see if we can convince each other
