Default Duraspark question

I recently pulled a duraspark system out of a 78 lincoln that has 3 main leads coming out of it. The odd one with two wiresis connected to some sort of vacume switch. Can anyone explain what this one does? I am thinking it has someting to do with advancing the system butthe lincolnalso had a vacume on the dist.
