1966 Upper & Lower Custom Console Pics
The consule looks awesome Dan. Now that you have the proto -type built and installed, maybe you can make one for Glen, and the rest of us. Sounds real good to us. lol
p.s. we'll supply all materals and the radio.

Thanks for all the kind words, everybody!
Will it work in a coupe?
I assume you mean the upper console, right? Well, if it were made longer, I don't see why not. This was definately a one-off effort though!
Did I make the floor console too?
Yeah, but it took a while. I came up with the design for it a couple years ago, and got as far as the plywood frame. Then it just sat on a shelf in the garage gathering dust. I had planned to put a couple gauges and a CD player in its forward section - but then I installed a CAA Perfect Fit A/C system in my car. I decided the center registers should go there instead. (That's the whole reason I needed the upper one for the sound system.) So I got excited about it again; figured out how to mount a couple round Ford A/C registers; and wound up finishing it. The build was pretty much the same as the upper one: plywood construction with cotton batting and vinyl; then real wood vaneer stained and varnished to match the other one.
As for those gauges - I've got a dash-top gauge pod almost finished. It will house 2 gauges and mount to the crashpad without having to put holes in it. I'll post pics of it (when it's done) if anyone's interested...

Somehow I don't think going through the nightmare of building these things a second time would be much of a retirement! [:@]

OMG! That is beautiful. I'll never get Her Highness to look like that. Crap I may have to get a job! Dan, I'll give you a quater to snailmail the design. Make my hubby refit for a coup. Belay that. No upgrades. Poopies.[
