Default choosing a block

wella hex wrench found itself into my engine and cracked a piston which screwed up my block so i'm heading to the junkyard for a new engine whats the best one to get i'm torn between the 87 with forged piston and the esplorers with the gt-40s this is for a street car with limited track use.

cant you get heads off of the truck and get an entire forged/roller 5.0 engine?

i found my block on craigslist for $50. and it came with a set of stock iron heads too. and a fan, and some extra valve train stuff. but i assume you're looking for a complete motor that doesnt need a rebuild.

in that case, good luck cause no telling whats happened to a motor you find at the yard. i would never trust a motor i buy unless i tore it down and checked it out myself. theres always gonna be leaks and missing parts off a motor you buy at a yard.

remember 97.5 and up explorers come with the P heads and 97.5 and below are gt-40's like on the 93 and sn-95 cobras.....find a 87-92 mustang engine and put a set of gt-40's on it and you'll have a 13 sec ride with right supporting mods
