Trunk Lock cylinder.
OK I need some advice.
I'm replacing the trunk lock cylinder sleeveon my 66 and need to know how to get the actual cylinder (the part the key turns) out of the chrome sleevethat mounts the whole thing to the trunk lid. There is a pin on the tail of the sleevenear the threads that hold the whole thing into the lid. I push it down with the key turned to aboutthe 2 o'clock position but it dosen't seem to go in far enough to get anything to move.
How do I get the lock cylinder out ????

The sleeve actually mounts to the trunk lid with a 15/16 nut and a spacer support that keeps it tight to the lid. I already have the sleeve out of the trunk. I think I just need to kinda go postal on the rod that goes from the sleeve to the actual trunk latch.
I'm going to soak it in some WD-40 and tryto knock it out.
Wish me luck...LOL

GOT IT !!!! After soaking it a little bit. I turned the key back to the 2 o'clock position and pushed the pin down. Then I held on to the outer part and tapped on the lock rod with a small hammer. The inner cylinder came out after breaking it free of 40+ years of junk.
Then I polished the lock face and pressed it back into the new sleeve after transfering the lock rod to the new sleeve.
