+1 on the backwards carb lol. Also you should invest in a nice intake. They are pretty cheap.

the carb, is just for mock up, i got a little bit ahead of my self and just wanted to see what it would look like with the carb on.

and i do want a better intake, mine is pure stock.. but i am extremely low on cash right now... so my goal for right now is to just get it running, thats my number one priority, i even told my girl friend that.
and i didnt touch the block with any paint, its just.. black i guess... i looked at it and the block looked good the way it was so i didnt do anything to it.

as far as my set up. its pretty much stock, BTW its a 302, im 17, no job and no other funding other then birthday and christmas money.. so the only new thing i put in other then rings, bearings and bolts was a cam shaft, a new replacement water pump, and a new dizzy.. all just stock replacement. 1:6 rocker arm ratio.. like i said.. pretty much stock.. OH! and i put timing gears in, pretty excited to hear those..

LOL and I thougfht it's a very unusual choke linkage :-) i was more confused by the fittings in the valce vovers.I had guessed that they were swapped.
as well I hope you have enough clearance at front with all the water hoses (thermostat housing etc). Can't realkly see from pictures

Looks great! A bit different with the black/gray block but it does look good like that still. Might want to think about routing the wires a bit differently, say down lower or better yet on the other side under the fenders. This would really add to the clean look. Since your at this point it wouldn't take much and gives a neater bay appearance. Good luck on finishing up.. I'm months and months away from that point still [:'(]. Can't wait though!

Looks great. I left my stock sending unit on my 66 just so in addition to having the cool looking andinformativegauge, I'd have an idiot light, too.
