Well I finnaly got around to buying myself a welder for my garage...I bought a miller 180. My question is how has everyone gone about securing the pan's to the frame rails to make them nice and snug befor welding? I really don't believe sheet metal screw's are the best way to go about securing them?
what you can get to, use welding C clamps, and i also used tiny screws, then removed them and welded the holes,...that is about the only way to keep them tight,..that i know of
I ran a bolt through the hole that was in the floor pan and that lined up with the hole that was in the frame rail. Use some fender washers so that you done warp your pan too bad.
Wow those look good.. well I think screws are going to be my only option.. the toe boards won't fit in snug without chopping out more of the tranny tunnel which I don't wanna do.. and I don't wanna chop the pan to much:S The long floor pans I purchased also don't seem like they fit properly on the front frame rail without some persuasion.
