Default father and son project

i decided that i would post our current project, just to see what people thought about what we are doing..

here it is, its a 1965 mustang fastback that is going to be my car, and we have pretty much went the oppiste dirrection for stock, well here we go
first we cage the whole car,
we but miers 1 1/2" flare on the back to add a little more rubber 17x9.5 in the rear 17x7 in thr front
we are running the battery in the trunk
in the inside of the car we are using two recaro racing seats, and instead of the bench seat we are running two spin tech racing seats.
there is no radio in the car
all four seats will have simpson racing belts
motolito steering wheel
autometer gauges and tach
now for the intresting part, the engine!!!!!!
we started out with a boss 302 block, the block have had some work done to make it nice agian,
we are running forged crank, pistons and rods. all new
we are running roller rockers,
new camshaft with .611 lift
boss heads that have been ported and polished, and the whole engine has been balanced and blueprinted.
for a fuel system we didnt wanted to run something more intresting, so we went with a hillborne fuel injection system with 6' stacks
on the outside we used custom headers which we made
dry sumps system, with 2 1/2 gallon tank, and we are running the peterson pumps which we had to make all custom lines for
the car isnt done yet its commin along hopefully within a couple of months, i will keep it updated and i will put soem pics that i have right now.

here is a link to some of the pics i have

AAAH, Ported and Polished....Balanced and Blueprint. Those terms are old school music to my ears...brings a tear to my eye. They sound much better than dyno-tune and Air/Fuel ratio. I know these are important, but back in the day my friends and I dreamed of the days ahead when we'd have the money to "Balance and Blueprint" our engines, and have the heads and intakes "Ported and Polished".

The funny thing is, when I was 16 I really didn't know what any of that meant....I just knew it was good.[sm=hail.gif]

Nice car.....especially nice looking engine. I hope it runs as nice as it looks. Thanks for sharing the photos.

Nice pics and the engine looks super. Happy restomodding and hope its a great father / son time! I've always wanted to rebuild a car with my father and just this year we bought a 67 for the wife. She all but insisted we go this route as she knew its something I've always wanted to do with Dad. So off the car went and I now drive 1000 miles each way from Jersey to NS, Canada every other month to spend 4 or 5 weeks working on the car with him. Should be ready next spring/summer and driven back to Jersey. Yay!!!

Good luck and have a great time with it!
