I love the 71 boss 351 and the 71 mach1 drag package but different strokes for different folks.

I'd have to say besides Eleanor, and the '65-'66 GT-350, I'd say I would love to have a '65 Fastback 2+2 with the orignal Hi-Po 289.

" what is to be considered omong the best of the classic stangs"

When you are considering a purchase, the "best" one is the one for sale that is in reasonable shape for a fair price that doesn't have to be shipped from five states away.

I like all the years, 65-66, 67-68, and the 69-70. All hold their own attitude differently. I plan on having one car from each time period. In order of ranking from most favorite to favorite would be 67-68, 69-70, then the 65-66. I like em all. Once you get into the 70's, things started going down hill, especially after 73, yikes, what was Ford thinking?

I like the years 65-66 and I am very partial to coupes. I am not a huge fastback fan, don't get me wrong any mustang rocks, well old mustangs

ORIGINAL: true66gt

oh cool u went to the show at m+? ive been there a few times but never to a show. its only like an hour and a half away from my house. i always read about the shows in the catalog
I'm from Stockton and just happened to be in town for the weekend when I saw another forum member post about the show. So I dragged my mom thereQuite a few nice cars (and quite a few not-so-nice). I also had to buy some rear leafs, which worked out much better than shipping them back down.

I'll exclude the Boss 302's and 429 and the CJ's....I think they fall in the obvious choice, super musclecar category with the Shelbys.

That said it is a very close tie for me between the '67 fastback models and the '69 sportroof models.....probably have to go with the '69 Mach 1.....of course after the Boss's and the Shelby's
