best classic stang

I'll exclude the Boss 302's and 429 and the CJ's....I think they fall in the obvious choice, super musclecar category with the Shelbys.

IMHO I think the rumored "golden mustang" would be the best. Supposedly Ford make 1 or 2 mustangs believed to be the 1,000,000th mustang made in 66. I would love to discover it was mine, but im pretty sure it aint...
The most desirable stang for me can change every few minutes. It is usually one I see either at a car show or on the road... that I do not own!
But when I see another, all of a sudden, I have a new "most desirable"!

I lik them all but prefer the original fastbacks, and that's why I drive one, not the other way around. Second, I think the '69-'70s are a sharp looking car. I really don't care for what I consider the exaggerated look of the '67-'68s.
I feel the original fastbacks are the cleanest design. The way the roof line has a "bubble" effect as opposed to the coupe's more formal roof line is one reason why. The fact that the fastback portion ends before reaching the edge of the taillight panel, producing a small flat trunk is another. The overall smaller size of the car is a third. All in all I consider the first fastbacks to be one of the best looking cars ever designed.
