Heater hose part?
I have a few question dealing with heater hose fittings if anyone would like to answer them...
What different applications would used for the 90* fittings versus the straight fittings? The way the hose come out of the firewall, wouldn't a 90* be best?
The threads should be 1/2", but whats the correct size for the other end?
And finally, how come some fittings I've seen have an extension AFTER the threads, and some just stop at the threads? I'll try to find pictures...

the extension is so it doesnt suck air and pinch the geater core tubes. i read about that the other day on here. both our motors dont have them so i need to modify mine and my dad is gonna buy a new one. theyre $20.
Yes, that's correct.
Also, OE style 90* fittings have a restrictor built into them to prevent the engine from overpressurizing the heater core. If you have a Weiand Stealth or Edelbrock RPM intake, you'll need to get the longer fitting to clear the intake runner. I know Glazier's sells them, and I think I saw one in the NPD catalog as well.
