Door Glass Removal
Hi, is there anyplace on the net. that gives me instructions on how to remove the door glass and all the mechinisms ? I'm putting on new doors on my 66 coupe and hate to just start tearing it apart without knowing what I'm doing.

+1 on the shop manual,
and WELCOME!!!!
From what I can tell the glass is connect to a much larger piece inside the door, even after removing the felt I could not get the glass to come through the top of the door. I ended leaving the glass in because I could not get it to detach, you may have to have a glass shop do it because it appears to be attached with adhessive. There is also a bumper in the bottom of the door that is a pain to remove.... good luck!

I've pulled mine twice and it wasn't that hard if I remember. I can't really remember how I did it though, lol.... It was a long time ago. I couldn't find anything online but I'll look through my books and see if I can find a few pointers for you.
thanks for the responses, I dismantled the drivers door, what a pain,I will definitly put the new
door back together before I take the passengers side apart so I have a pattern to go by.
If you come up with any instructions let me know,I will look into getting a shop manual.

I took my door internals apart, bagged everything. Now the car is in the body shop getting work done and paint. I asked the guy how hard it was to reassemble the internals and he said it wasn't hard. It isn't if you've done it once or twice. He is gong to do it for meas I don't want to screw anything up. I know I could do it, I just don't want to mess with it. It would probably take me all day where he would spend an hour or two on them and be finished. And they would work correctly the first time. Good plan to reassemble the one door as you take the other apart. That will give you a reference.
