Default Removing Installing Emblems

I just took 5 of the 6 emblems of my 1966 front fenders-I cant get "the pony' emblem off of one side-I think it was glued on because it is not coming off like the others.....how canI remove this emblem with out damaging the paint around it?

Also are the new barrell clips that came with the new emblems installed (pushed threw) the outside of the fender,or do the clip on from the inside of the fender...little confused on how to clip them on.

Should I use any "glue " or "soft putty" when installing the new ones? The old 289 emblems had a soft black putty shoved into the back of the emblem. Thanks scott

If you really think it is glued try a hair dryer to heat up the glue.

Install barrel clips from the outside. Tube 1st flang last to keep it from pushing through.

I would get a piece of thin plastic or sheet metal to put between the screw-driver or putty knife and your paint.
Sounds like heat may help out to,unless someone else has put them on in the past, Ford didn't use any kind of putty/glue to secure those,It may just have some corrosion or something built up on the back causing it to be bigger then the original hole?
Go slow take your time and apply steady even pressure,it may take a few minutes but atleast you will save your paint.
