Default brakes, suspension, and steering

those are my three main focuses for this summer. i finally decided the 4 wheel drums have to go after one too many "oh ****" moments and i would really like to be able to drive in a straight line if i want to make a pass or cruise on the highway.

so my question is, what should i start with first, any upgrades i should do at the same time? things like that.

I don't get it...and probably never will. If that is the choices, I'd go with steering first. That will cause the most problems. I have 4 wheel drums and have no problem stopping. I redid my car all to "stock" specs and it handles great, I can cut corners at 70mph and stop on a dime (with change).....but you won't hear that from anyone here.

Default RE: brakes, suspension, and steering

I've selected the same first three items to restore on my 67 Mustang. I'm starting with the suspension including the restoration of the fenderwell area. I'll restore the suspension using stock style replacement components.

It is really hot in Texas in the summer and the suspension will likely take a while. As a result, I plan to leave the car apart and install new brakes towards the end of the summer. I originally planned to restore the drum brake setup but continue to be swayed by those who recommend disc brakes. Since my car brakes somewhat adequately now (with drums) I still have not decided.

The last item I plan to update is the steering with stock replacement components. My original manual steering system is still in good shape so that is the only reason I saved it for last.
