Well, after 4 and 1/2 years of diligent screaming, our son has finally graduated from high school. The first words out of his mouth......I'm thinking of taking the Stang and moving to South Caroline. This didnt go over to well with his mom....or dad for that matter. But I just came back with...........I'm not going to work on the Mustang anymore...that way you cant leave. He doenst know one end of a wrench from the other and the transmission still needs to be installed as well as the new A/C system and the powersteering, and needs paint. He pays for the parts I buy and I install them....sooo....strictly speaking.....he's screwed if he tries to leave. HAHAHA. But seriouly, he told us that he is now thinking about attending Texas A&M in town and studing engineering. He'd like an autmotive engineering degree, but I think he will look closer ata mechanical degree with an automotive as a minor.

My dad used to do that to me, I always thought it was a pretty @sshole of a move. He bought me new tires for my 98 becuase it was my only car and I was driving it in the winter with bald tires. From then on, everytime I wanted to do something that didn't go well with him, he held it above my head and said my car would be on blocks..

Don't be a douchebag...

Actually it was a joke....we both got a good laugh out of it. But I did tell him that if he wants to take the car to South Caroline then he needs to get off his duff and help me with the repairs and upgrades so he can learn about how and what to do if things break. There arent too many good mechanics between South Texas and South Caroline that know how to work on one of these non-turboed, non-smogged, non-OBDed, non-conputerized, non-fuel injected cars, and if he does happen to find a mechanicthat knows what he is doing, then he will pay dearly for it. BUT, he has decided to stay at home fora while and work more hours to get the Stang in top notch runningorder.

All I know as that if it came to my son leaving and going to college or stay to work a everyday job to get money to pay for a hobby i would kick his @ss. college is only a few years and really if he lives on campus he wouldnt need a car anyway. i would either make him leave or i would slap that oval together and send them both away.
he would learn a lot more in school than a part time jobbie. I only say this because i let college go to work and have money to spend. i turned out decent but life could be easier.

the good thing is we all have opinions and we all know what they are like . However congradulations on the graduation. seems like yesterday for me!
