Flyweigh weight....
So I have a flywheel laying around that is in good condition and the correct size for my 351W. Its 164tooth and 14". Did all of these flywheels come with the correct 28oz. weight, or are there 50oz. too? I dont want to put the wrong flywheel on the car...
Also, anyone have 1 flywheel bolt laying around? I have 5 of them. Gnomes stole my 6th one...

i believe its 28oz, the same weight as the old 302's whatever that is. I remember because I think my dad got a 50oz by accident because it was for the newer 351's and the engine was shaking like crazy hahaha.
An older flywheel should be the 28 ounce. Since these engines are externaly balanced you need the take the crank, harmonic balancer and the new flywheel to a machine shopto be rebalanced to make the change.

you can tell by how much it wieghs. i just went through this with my engine builder. it is really imortant to get the right one though. i have both. if you tell me how much it wieghs i will tell you which oine it is.
Different flywheels will weigh different amounts. It doesn't matter if they ar both Ford parts and both 28 OZ, on still may weigh more than the other but their balance weight could still be the same.
I didnt say it IS 50oz, I was asking wether it is a 50 or 28. There is no way to tell apparently...
