Hollow or Solid Shaft Distributor

I see there are two types of Pertronix electronic ignitions for 6 cylinders - one for hollow distributor shaft and one for solid shaft. How do I tell which type shaft I have?

I am quessing here but it sounds like you may need to pull the distributor to check it.
