Default rear disk brakes

So, with the correct adaptors, can almost any ford rear disk brake setup be placed on a different rearend?

you want a cheap disc setup get a 92 and up "bubble" crown vic setup(preferably police) and all you need is to small shims and its a direct bolt on besides the lines and the shim

oh, well i guess i should have mentioned that I have an 8", i guess that might help. I was curious if disks on an 8.8" would fit the 8" or if I would just have to try and find out for myself.

Hiya,

i got a 9" rear axle housing from quick performance racing. they make the housings themselves.
With those I got the Ford Racing rear dics that are very similar to explorer (some people say it's the same).
So from that I can't tell you if that will fit, but when rmodel says they're different and I can confirm I have em on a 9", then it's ?probably ? not an option. just a thought. i never had a 8", so I can't tell

His brackets are expensive! 150$, I think not...

I am currently doing a MarkVII conversion which I hope to finish soon (if my freakin bearing retainers ever get here!). JamesW has a write up on his website.

I have a setup from a crown vic with alumininum spacers and detailed instructions for the install. There is a guy on the classic Cougar site that sells the spacers or complete kits. You will need to trade the calipers in for rebuilt units. You can also contact Vintage Venom which is what I wound up doing as I decided to rebuild the whole rear. Thier kit is around $400. IIRC. Call me if your'e interested at 732 429 9203. Good luck, Dan Donlin
