exhaust woes....
heres the run down.
i bought a Pypes Performance Exhaust. The description said it would be a"direct bolt on to stock manifolds"
of course i was a little wary that a 2.5 inch mandrel bent performance exhaust was going to bolt right up. so as we put the car up on the lift we discovered my fears. i have a 2.5 inch pipe. and thats it. no flange no reducer. just piping that runs all the way up to the manifold.as if the cut pipe is supposed to magically morph into the manifold.
so what i need is a downpipe right? its 100 dollars from pypes. im kinda peeved that they would not include that in the kit. i would not have minded to purchased the piped as part of the kit. but why should i have to pay an additional 100 dollars to bolt on a kit i thought was a bolt on?
is there any way around this? i haev yet to call their tech line. it seems to be down for the week. and i want this exhuast thats sitting min my trunk on this weekend so i can drive the car soon.

The ones I have seen were not advertised as manifold back, nor did the pictures I saw of them give me the impression that they included the downpipes. I went and checked the Pypes website and they list the 65-70 mustang systems as "Crossmember back". Are you sure you didn't just assume that they went all the way to the manifold? Recheck the ad used by the vendor you bought from and see if it claimed that it was manifold back. If it did, then you have a valid argument. If not, then just go get some downpipes and be done with it.
bougth the item from jegs. and they qoute "bolts onto stock manifolds"
and it includes extra piping from the x pipe that reaches to the manifolds.
but thats it. its just a pipe. no flange.
i cant find the pics.
