Trac Loc diff question.
lol, no
If I did, it'd be in my car
I'm still running an open 3.25 8". I don't have enough traction to break anything=/
I've got a fox body 8.8 waiting for me to build it, though. I'm going the 8.8 route to save on weight, seeing as I'm building a track car rather than a strip car, and I don't think I'll have enough torque to need a 9".

So what is the general concensus on what the best limited slip diff out there for a Ford 9"? Also, will it handle 467ft*lbs at the flywheel, which with a four speed toploader and a 3.5 rearend is about 4500ft*lbs in first gear?
Yep, they aeem to be the best, as close to a locker as you can get without haveing a locker... lol, does that make sense? The TrueTrac is what I would really like to have, yes... a nodular iron 9 inch with a 3.50 gear, 35 spline Moser shafts... oh wait, there I go dreaming again.
Yes,in my opinion,I would say that it is the best with the Auburn coming in a somewhat close second. The auburn will eventually wear out over time, wear as the TrueTrac will not. Also, the Auburn requires oil additives, and also costs more. Detroit all the way.
Anyway, Anybody got a good nine inch, housing or complete assembly that would bolt into a 72?

LSD friction modifier. I got the one from redline oil
says it won't chatter when i go around a corner, will shorten break in period and increase lifespan of the clutches
Any limited-slip differential is going to require limited slip additive in the gear oil. This includes Trac-Lock, Auburn, Posi, and Sure-Grip diffs. The True Trac and Torsen are torque-sensing worm gear differentials, not limited slip, and don't have clutches to require additives.
Urban, iirc Ford put 31-spline 9" rears behind the 428CJ motors, and they're probably the single most popular rear end for hot rods and drag racers because they're near indestructible. I wouldn't worry too much

Mostgood gear companies will build you a full 9" center for near the same cost of an 8" center, if you supply therear housing and axles. With that said, I've had Auburn and currently have a Trac-loc, and definately preferred the Auburn. My Trac-loc is pretty agressive, and at times acts like alocker in tight turns, where the Auburn didn't.
