engine is in. but?
I got the engine in and it is sweet. however i need to build a new cross member for the t5. Does this need to be done or will the stock one work. everything lines up so well. i cant wait to finish this thing.
My goal is to have it driving, but not finished by the fourth of July. i would like to break it in with a nice 4 hour drive to san diego. However, it is a very hot drive from here to there. the temp outside should average about 112 degrees. might be better to wait as hard as it may be.

You have to make or buy a t5 cross member. To make one put the tranny in and get the angle right and make a templet for it then make the cross member its not too hard can even use part of your old one if you like.
hmmm i bought a T5 crossmember. The attachment is the at car is surely the same, but I don't think the old one it will fit to the T5 and it's rubberthingy.
whatever you do I wanted to mention that I got a small metal tube to put on the screws for the parking brake to move this out of the way of the slip yoke. The idea being that no parking brake thingy will never ever catch the turning slipyoke
