Waffles is right, brittany blue is very close to the color I painted my car, "winter blue". Winter Blue is the original color for my car and I thought it was unique so I didn't change it. It was '69 only and pretty much 1969's version of brittany blue.

here's another pic of my car for an idea on winter blue. In my opinion I think you should stick to an orginal 69 color, but thats all personal opinion.

The dark greens like Highland green look great as well, but if you are planning to black out the hood (which i recommend, it looks great in my opinion) then you would most likely want a lighter color that doesn't clash with the black hood. Gotta have that black stand out if you do it!

I do plan to black out the hood (flat black)

The original color of my car was the Candy Apple Red.

I am leaning towards black, red (maybe something more modern like redfire) or a blue.

Those colors to me have always looked great on Mustangs.

Please keep the suggestions coming though and the PICTURES!

Thanks for all the pics guys.

I don't think redfire would look very good. Too maroon ish... kind of feminine. You want a color to make that car POP... not blend in.

Color choice is a personal thing. Go with what you like.I always thought your year would look good in the modern screaming yellow or hugger orange (not grabber orange). With the black out hood, I think it would look sharp... JMHO

this may sound dumb.

but i have a 70 mach 1 and its grabber orange.

ive always played with the idea that to repaint it with sunburst orange off the new c6 corevettes.

i would put all the original stripes and emblems back on but instead of grabber orange which is over done, that pearl orange which would make the car look completly different but still mach 1 ish.

I have seen a 70 model with that Hugger Orange and a blacked out hood.

Waffles that's why I'm thinking if I go red I'll either do a Dark Candy Apple Red Metallic or something without the metallic in the paint (as far as red goes).

The screaming yellow would be very nice but I'm afraid I'd get bored with it and this is a car I'll be passing down to my kids (when I have them).

Waffles you're right I want it to turn heads not only b/c it's a classic mustang but b/c of the color.

Those black ones you posted have me thinking about it again, and I think I'd go with the Brittany Blue possibly as well. I like the darker blues, although...4reboy that overhead shot of your car in the sun is awesome!

hot 70, thought u sold ur 70???

Heres a couple more.

BLACK JADE. Saw this on one at the woodward dream cruise, on a 69 mach 1... omg so beautiful. Got GOBBS more attention than most of the other mustangs there. I would have intercourse with this car.

Here's the original Color chart for 69... wasn't aware brittany blue was still available in 69... so beautiful.

I'm really liking those blues. I didn't know they had that many original color choices on the cars.

Thanks Waffles for finding that.
