Need some help...possible cable clutch conversion
I am new here, but I have been looking over this website for the past year or so getting lots of help from you folks. Well, I have a small dilemma.
I have a 347 that I am ready to drop into my 66' Mustang, and want to install the Modern Driveline Cable Clutch conversion, but my Lakewood Scattershield is the old style without the cable provision.
I am going from an automatic car to a Tremec 3550, so I am going to have to rebuild my tranny tunnel, but I want to use this cable conversion rather than go to the aged Z-Bar system due to my pretty stiff clutch set up. I have every part needed, except the clutch linkage.
Also, I have custom made FPA long tube 1 5/8" - 1 3/4" stepped headers sitting right here that are made to clear the cable setup and scattershield.
Basically, what I want to know, has anybody modified their existing stock old style bellhousing to accept a cable? I think I may be able to fab up a bracket to bolt to the housing that will accept the cable, but I want to know if anyone has ever done it. It seems that the only difference between the old style and new style housing is the tab to hold the clutch cable.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, since I am going to be dropping this motor in within the next couple weeks.
Thanks

I have been looking at the T-5 style scattershield, and the old style scattershield, and all that I can really tell is different is the T-5 one has a hole on the flange for the cable to pass through. I cant really tell though.
