New upholstery
Sport seats are foam sets molded differently than stock but still use the stock frame. They are supposed to fit like newer seats but still has the classic look. The conversion require the foam kits and the upholstery. NPD, mustangdepot carry them. They are made by TMI I think.

There's a gentleman that lives down the road from me with a 65 convertable. He recently bought this car as a "project car" for him to tinker around with inhis retirement.
His "project" to date has consisted of him writing checks to other people to work on his "project car". At what point does a project car become a "regular old car" if you have someone else do the work for you? It's not much of a project to write out a check. Where does the pride of ownership and personal satisfaction of a job well done come from? The ability to use a pen?
I understand that some people cannotwork on their car due to physical constraints.
I understand that some people cannot find the time to work on their car.
What I don't understand is the people who are fully capable, have limited funds, but insist on farming things out that couldeasily be done if they'd just give it a try.... (Yeah, I'm talking about you).
You've performed a minor miracle with the metal work you've done to your car. Is every panel and weld absolutely perfect? Probably not, but it's probably good enough and will look great! Upholstering a couple seats is childs play compared to what you've accomplished. If you can operate a set of hog-ring pliers (not much different than regular old pliers), you can re-upholster seats. Don't be nervous about it just because you haven't done it before.
The first time someone sees the seats and asks you where you got them done and you saythat you did them yourself makes it all worth it!
Jump in with both feet!

Yes I did perform a small miracle with all the metal work I did. My father in law is a lifetime welder so I had a little help with advice only. I have done every single bit of work on this car so far and I mean everything. I hope the welds are good enough as I never welded before but it became more natural with the more I did. Now it is no big deal to break out the welder and weld something up.
No one has put a finger on any part except for the packing guy and the fed-ex guy and that was only on the box. I recently tried to even do the body work and paint the darn thing in my garage until I realized after many hours of sanding and getting nowhere that I could not do the body and paint. I could do it, but it would look like doo. So, I guess I am a little nervous about screwing up $350 in upholstery but I will probably do it myself. I always have a great idea that I will pay someone to do something and I always end up doing it myself.
Uusually, paying someone to do something, a) you get ripped off. b) looks like doo c) you have to wait forever to get it done and it usually doesn't come out the way you want
I have so many freakin tools from all the jobs I've done over the years that who knows if I will ever use them again. I guess I will be adding a pair of hog ring pliers to my collection.

I will post pics of the install too for any one that wants to see. Hopefully the upholstery will arrive soon. I have been restoring the seats and tracks this past week and will post pics of that too.
yeah, i looked around for a decent sports seat and the best deal i could find was on mustangdepot.com and they have some cool two toned door panels and you can even get your seats two toned, pretty cool if your trying to make the inside a little sportier.
