Default Fuel System list.

Ok let me see if I got this right.

Tank...Pickup...Fuel line...Pump...Line to Carb...Carb?

Has anyone used those racey looking blue/red fittings and SS line for the lfuel system? I want to, but want to see how it looks. BTW, line line is 1/4" right? Or 3/8"?

The line is 5/16". The "racey looking" stuff is A/N fittings. What else do you need?

I think those SS lines look cool too, usually used for racing I think but could be used anywhere. THose fittings are pricey depending on how many you need and the lines will need to be supported in shorter intervals due to more flexability in the braided lines. Do they take a special tool to cut and fit the lines for the fittings? I might go that route too.

You can use a cut off wheel and some electrical tape to keep it from fraying to make your own using Earl's or Summit AN fittings. They take a little practice.

Steel braided line is best cut by wrapping the to be cutarea with masking tape and then cutting it quickly and cleanly with a high RPM cut-off wheel. Cutting it slowly with a hacksaw usually produces a not so clean cut.

Another option is to go to your local automotive store and buy a $25 roll of 5/16ths inch aluminized mild steel tubing, a handful of brass fittings, and then cutting and bending your own fuel lines. Similar to replacing your original "looks okay on the outside, but corroded badly on the inside" brake lines.

Isnt that typically on the bottom of the pump? Or should I put another on? I would like to put one of those with the little windows, that way I can watch levels and such.

Between the end point of your forward fuel line (as it enters the engine compartment through the fender apron) and the inlet port of the fuel filter should be installed a fuel filter. Hard fuel line to rubber fuel hose the fuel filter to rubber fuel hose toinlet port of fuel filter.

If you want to use a clear "glass" one, go for it.
