electric fuel pump recommendation
I have been reading alot about noisy electrical fuel pumps and I need to replace my old Holley (which was very noisy). Can anyone recommend a good, reliable quiet fuel pump?
Javier, did you get the "Edelbrock Quiet-Flo Electric Fuel Pumps"? My electric fuel pump in my other cars are not as loud as the Holley but they are rice burners
After speaking with the Holley rep, my fuel pump might have been a bit quieter if I had the right current.
Anyone ever used the Jegs brand - the Jegs and Summit Racing look just like the Holley, I wonder if Holley makes these units for Jegs (Jegs has it for $74, the Edelbrock is 149 and Holley is 132)?

I put a Barry Grant 220 in my freshly redone 383 setup. I mounted it on a plate using their rubber isolator, but it is still pretty loud. It will flow some serious fuel and with my Barry Grant regulator the fuel pressure stays a 7psi even under serious throttle. Wish I could find one that was quieter!
I pulled the trigger today and ordered the Edelbrock Quiet Flo - I will get it in 2 days and post results back
I emailed Ron Francis and heard back from him - he said that since the fuel pump is only pulling 4 amps, I could wire directly from the fuse panel to the pump without the relay (he did say to ground direct to the frame instead of the body). He did mention to check the wire and if it felt hot to go with a larger wire. When I spoke with the Holley guy, he said to go with relay and use at least 10 gauge wire to go from solenoid positive to pump. I talked to the local race shop and the guy said to go with 8 gauge wire and that a relay wasn't really necessary if I had a fuse on it.
So with all this feedback, and given the car is for my son, I am going with doing like the manufacturer and most of the folks on here are recommending - use a relay and route through oil pressure unit going with 8 gauge wire.
Thanks and I'll post results on how I like th Edelbrock!
