Well my dad is complaining now. He doesn't want to spend 20 dollars and find out that isn't the problem. When it is HISfault the car isn't working. I never pedal my car before I start it would always start. Well he did it about 3 times and it didn't start. Then he decides I will do it about another 10or morefreaking times. So it flooded the carb big time. So the car will sit until tomorrow so we can take it apart.

These are old cars. They are going to have their problems (unfortunately).

lookit you dont have to spend jack except for some carb cleaner maybe

try Rmodels suggestion if that doesnt help then pop it apart...you might damage a gasket but they have always come free for me.

it just needs that blockage cleared from the seat and yes whacking it with a screwdriver might indeed do it.

Happy hunting

Leaking out the bottom sounds like the accelerator pump is split and leaking from there. A bad needle or stuck or sunk float it will come out of the bowl vent.

well he said it was leaking onto the intake...it sounds exactly like the last two times I had a float stick, fuel just pours out onto everything.

when I got my 65 it was leaking from the accelerator pump. I pulled the plate and put in a rebuild kit to fix it. It must have been leaking for a while too because the previous owner wrapped a rag around the base of the carb to sop up the fuel. Looked like a fire hazard to me. it is hard to say for sure until you get it off the car and see exactly where it is leaking from. There are some good options posted for you to look at though.

Is the accelerator pump the diaphram? Well the diaphram is cracked and I have rust in the bowl. I know most of this stuff is original. I even have the FoMoCo tag on it. So far that is all I have found.

well if there is rust in bowl thats probably what jammed the needle open. probably came from the tank, or was in the carb before you installed it and a piece finally broke free.

clean that sucker out real nice, you can use a small wire from a torch cleaner or a single strand of wire form say 16ga ish electrical wire and clean out any ports like the main jet seat and then spray carb cleaner though all passages.

sounds like you need that rebuild kit as well if the diaphragm is cracked [&:]

Good luck scaring up that 20.00 bucks

EDIT: Never mind I just found what I needed. Just found out what model my carb is. Could I use the Ford 1100or 2100series rebuild kit?
