Not sure what he ment but "MANUAL SELINOIDS". You will need a TV cable connected to your carb form Lokar and diffent cross member (http://www.ronmorrisperformance.com/03clutch/index.html) and drive shaft and shifter. To connect your backup lights and saftey switch you will need the cable (http://www.ronmorrisperformance.com/...gory_Code=1000). And can't think of anything more right now..

If you have never been in the guts of an automatic before I would recommend getting a manual first.
You can get an ATSG manual off ebay for about 12 bucks. Read and understand the manual.

If you still want to rebuild it , then tear it down and inspect the thing, then you can decide what parts to buy and which special tools you will need.

Automatics do not have solenoids, they have servo's. None are manually actuated.
He might have meant a stage 3 shift kit, which will give full manual control of the shifting.

Did the guy tell you what the condition the tranny is in?

he said that the tranny was in good condition, but just to be safe i wanted to rebuild it before spend money on theconversion then having to take it out and again to fix it, yeah he said that he was going to get "manual selinoids and a shift kit" i didnt know what he was talking about so looked it up and couldn't find anything on a "manual selinods" but i found the shift kit though.

when you say full manual control of the shifting what does that mean?

Haha, I bet it is an AODE, with the "E" meaning electronic. The valvebody is computer controlled. The cases look very similar, but I am unsure if the internals are interchangeable. You might want to look into this before you buy it.

Here are a few helpful web sites. The Hemmings lincwas helpfull information.
When you purchase a crossmember,I believe the T-5 Crossmember will fit andis much stronger than the flat metal ones you will find on the market.
You will want to visit a pull N Pay place for much of the little things to complete the install including the neutral/reverse switch. Be sure to grab that and then visit a trailer supply store for the67 style electricalconnections.
The filler tube will need to hug close to the back of the engine block for it to fit. You may have to cut off the mounting bracket and re-fit it for your application

I just did a goole search for AOD transmission and got more than I needed. If there is any information I can pass on to you I will. I just put one in my 69

Good Luck, Cliff
