Default The big EFI swap

I've finally got the 302 out of a 98 Explorer...the only things that are missing is the flywheel, headers, A/C, Alternator, and Power Steering pump (the brackets arestill on the front, but not the accessories). Does anyone havea full list ofinformation on how to put all of this into a '66 Mustang with a Toploader, or at least a place that I can obtain this information? There are several swaps on EFIs from the 80s on up to 95, but I cannot find anythingfor 98 302s. I would like to keep the serpentine belts (withoug using power steering or an A/C) and use the EFI that iscurrently on the motor. Also, who makes headers that are specificfor the GTP heads (long-tubes)?

the sticky jcomp started about his EFI swap in a 70 has a lot of good info. Read thru that and I bet a lot of your questions will be answered.

why no. carbs stick, flood, and horrible on gas mileage.

plus he could utiliza 5.0 parts that are way cheaper.

the explorer is the same with a few changes with the intake( the intake can be used infact its almost the same as a cobra/gt40 setup but there are a few differences your probably gonna want to remove the explorer tb elbow. the explorer tb is an upgrade you have to slightly mod it but you need to visit this link to read about act placement since its different than the regular mustang setup), the timing cover(uses a 1994-1995 mustang style timing cover) and the dizzy setup(you will need a 86-93 mustang 5.0 dizzy)

other than that i would suggest that you add a nice roller cam as the specs on the explorer motor are weak either a b or f cam if you wanna go ford racing or a steeda cam. the cam in this motor will put you around 300hp and better mpg

the rest of the swap will be just like any other efi swap with but this motor will require swap specific headers since it has the gt40P heads
