Yea, but wow, 500$ is alot. You could get a refurbished center on ebay for about that or maybe less...

 

Yup.. that should work. Any 8" will work in any 8" rear regardless of the year of the car. Same thing at Summit that I was looking into is Here though I've lucked into a few 9" rears here with LS that I'm nabbing soon for next to nothing. Just waiting on some tools before we go pull the 351 and rears.My father suggested we grab as many as we can.. at least 2 for me though.

 

Is that the usual price for posi?

 

cheapest 9" from a versailles around here was 750.

 

I got a 9" 4:11 with posi for $350 in colorado. I feel fortunate

 

I have a tru trac and its awesome. Totally smooth when driving normal just like the open diff but hooks up great when loaded. No clutch pack to wear out....worth the 500.000

what type of gears do you have. Most 4.11 gears i see are 25 spline and the detroit lockers are 28 spline. Will the gears still work?

 

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Yeah right! They usually go for around $800 for a rebuilt 3rd member, and that is with new gears, bearings and atrac loc posi. Every now and then you can find one for around $600, but usually only have used R&P and rebuilt posis. The only new parts being bearings.

Its a sad truth...
