Did you buy the FG pieces from Doug at SW fabricators?

I am not sure who that is-i'm guessing that is where i should have purchased them from.
I bought the nose and fenders from Mustang Depot. Probably paid too much for them too.

hey, any thoughts on why there isa stud welded into the drivers front shock tower and then one on the the one in the picture above in front of the passenger shock tower near where the sway bar connects?

Also,is it necessary to use the original vents underneath of the upper scoops if you want them to be functional??
Thanks!

are those exhaust brackets??

maybe they trimmed them because they were planning on bigger tires, and a more complex suspension and needed a custom fitted exhaust to compensate?

jsut throwing it out there

They used the side exhaust, so i am not real sure. Could be, but i havent seen one of the side exhaust kits up close yet. I'm planning on going with a 408 windsor and possibly using the stack injection system i won from the first auction. Then again, by the time i get to that point it might be more feasible to just throw a carb on for a year or so until funds have been replinished.

I know what studs you're talking about and have no friggin' idea. Everytime I see tham I ask myself that same question.... what could they possibly be used for?

Jay (the owner of MD) is a great guy. He claims his FG pieces are great fitting. Let me know how that works out, not many people have reported on their fitment.

Doug at SW Fab was the FG supplier for UP. After their demise, he started selling the kit himself. He has a website selling the FG kits/pieces.

is it necessary to use the original vents underneath of the upper scoops if you want them to be functional??
Without the original vent panels installed, the "big hole" is visible when the scoop is installed. It looks kinda funky to me to see that big hole in there. Plus, w/o the original vents installed, driving in the rain would slowly fill the passenger compartment up with water (not really, but it would allow more water into the interior boxes than ever was intended). The consensus is to either use the original vents under the scoop... or install a "blackout" panel on the front of the scoop to make it non-functional.

Very interesting, Thanks! I can only assume those studs are perhaps to mount clamps on??? Maybe???

Like I said, I have no idea what those studs could be for.... I really wish I knew as it eats at me to not have an answer. My best guess is like you said, for clamps when routing a harness or something of that nature. They're not very big studs, so they're not supporting anything with a load on it. Chances are good that you'll never use them.

Those brackets are not for the new exhaust. The new exhaustkit you should be using is sold by Massive and built by JBA. It's a "perfect" fit.

dave, thanks for correcting my error. i dont know why i even bother to add because i have no experience with these cars whats so ever.

im curious though, how do you know all the specs of this car, you seem to be intune with all the slight fabrications created by UP.

i know you have a 67 GT500E, did you buy one from UP? did you build the car yourself using others build outlines?

sorry to hi jack and swerve off topic. i vow to never post stupid insight again. i find this car and thread very interesting.
