Default My new John Deer......

After blowing a new gatorback on my Weiand last sunday, I went shopping once again for a blower belt. It was suggested that I check my pulleys for alignment. Sure enough, they were off. I fixed that (not an easy task) and now hopefully that was the problem. I went to NAPA to try yet another brand. I had them bring a belt in from their warehouse. It was a 47" 10 rib belt. They forgot to mention one thing though, it's John Deer green!!! It goes great with my engine bay.

One other mention, thanks Jeff (05SDI) for stopping to help last Sunday after blowing the belt. The belt split right in half and took the top radiator hose out. Got her put back together and limped her home on the other half of the belt.

lol nice. Does kinda stand out but not in a bad way. Could see how some people would like it and others be sick.

btw.. are those stainless or chrome rad hoses.. and where'd you pick them up? Been looking around and most of what I see look like crap. Love the end caps on yours.

That's...odd. Most of the green belts have a W at the end of the part number, so it's really easy to spot them beforehand.

Napa belts are Gates brand, btw.

I picked the radiator hose at Schucks. It is stainless and the ends are chrome plated plastic. I didn't know they were plastic until I opened the pkg. It's all good.

The belt is a NBH 25100465HD. The heavy duty belts are colored green. I still need to take her on a bonzai run to see if this belt will hold up. I suspect the future belts will last longer now that the pulleys are in alignment. I know I'm going to catch hell at the car shows[8D]

Thanks Luke!

Is there a way you can dye the belt black? or maybe paint the outside of it? but I imagine with all the bending and spinning paint would wear off easily, so maybe you could dye it if there is a way...

get a vat of black rit dye and drop it in there for a week

but im not quite sure what the chemicals would do to the strength and integrity of the belt. it could make it weaker.
