Default Clock Problems

Alright so basically I have finally came around to fix the tach and clock on the mustang. Both have not been working for as long as I can remember.
First off is the clock, the clock lights work but the clock itself doesnt. So I am a little confused here are some pictures:

First is a overall picture

Here is some close up pictures of what I thought might be the problem:

And then here is a picture of the gears in the clock just in case its the clock itself. Cause there is two gears off to the left then the one all the way to the top that is the setting gear that sets the clocks time. ITs weird cause there is two gears off to the left that do nothing...dono might be nothing

I think the clock works fine, the gears rotate correctly and when spinning the top gear as the electricity would it rotates the minute, second, and hour hands, so it seems as though that is fine. The plugs lead me to some questions though??? Anybody got any ideas from the pictures or what else I might check?

if it makes you feel any better, my clock doesn't work, and I'm missing part of the wiring i think. The only wiring in the area on the harness above the glove box doesn't match the wiring on the clock. [:@]

oh well, at least I was able to get my interior lights to work
