Default Replacing clutch advice

I am about to replace my clutch on my top loader 3 speed trans. It has been a few years since I have done any tranny work. Is there any advice or tips I should know before I yank out the tranny and do this?

Follow the steps in the factory service manual and you should be fine. Important parts are clutch disc alignment and tightening the cover plate evenly.

For Gods sake make sure you have the side of the clutch disc labeled "flywheel side" actually facing the flywheel...been there done that recently!! Dont try and do this job in your driveway unless your going topull the engine.....much easier with theengine out. Take the time and have your flywheel re-surfaced. A new pilot bushing and throwout bearing are a requirement of course. And good luck...its not a hard job just a bit messy.
