its a bar that looks like a large brown crayon about 1" around....Its a polishing compound. You fire up your cotton wheels and then press the rouge against it and some of it rubs off and you then press the metal against the wheel to polish.

A using the right compounds a mirror finish can be obtained quite quickly.

I think its a great idea

hmm. fro mthe pics, it looks like the guy did a crappy job on the blasting too. its not even. i mean, i work at an engine shop so blasting is as easy as sleeping over there. it just sounds wierd to me that someone would pay another just to blast a peice of metal haha. it takes like 10 minutes. i hope he didnt charge you much.

im petty sure you can polish the spindle up to make it work just fine.

This **** always happens to me. somehitng always goes wrong turning something small into a struggle.
Trust me, you are not alone. Everything I ever try to do takes at least 3x as long as I planned. So yeah, applying true66gt's estimate, it would take me at least 30 minutes to blast those spindles.

But really, it doesnt look to me like they are ruined. You'll get it all put back together before you know it.

I too think that looks like a crappy job at best. I'd get my money back. Don't sweat the small stuff. Use some emory cloth and polish it back up.

im too much worried about the job he did at the moment, it only cost me $40 for all upper suspesion parts plus strut bars. it was cheap compared to some other guys around here so Im happy with that just not the fact he blasted to whole spindle. Im gonna pick up some of this stuff today and see if i can't fix these.

Sorry Boss, But thats a horrible job. I bet you anything he used sand and did not take his time. I would see how some serioussanding my fix it with some 400 - 600.

I would not pay the guy because the created more work for YOU! How the heck did he not tape it off?He does this all the time right?

My main concern is the shoulder as stated before. If that seal does not sick you will be going through them like water!

Don't feel too bad im sure each and everyone of us have horror stories of letting other people work on our cars. Almost every time I get something done from someone else, I need to bring it back two sometimes three times!!!!!![:@]

Do yourself a favor, dont take anything back to him. Apparently he has not been educated in simple mechanical processes. Polishing the seal land is a good start, it doesnt look like he removed enough metal to make the inner bearing racesspin on the spindle.

My 11 year old daughter does a much better jopb in the bead blasting cabinet than he did, and so does the 15 year old kid with ADHD. He cant stay focused long enough to finish much but he did better than that.
