tranny problems

hi i just installed a new rebuilt aod in my 69 and was setting up the tv linkage,when i installed the pressure guage to do the adjustment ,i am getting 80 pounds of pressure,can anybody help?

80 pounds at idle??? or in all range of motion?? When is it 80??

its at 80 at idle in neutral but doesnt change much when reving or pulling on the tv cable

do you have the gage plugged in to the correct port??? there are two side by side and the test port is the harder one to get to. If so something is not right with that AOD.
